What You’ll Do
The primary responsibility of this role is to analyse commercial, technical data of electronic components, PCB gerbers and assemblies, for generating and leading different type of cost out, VAVE, resiliency and NPI projects. It also requires developing and executing category wise strategies, in close collaboration with various cross-functional teams like Global procurement organization, product development teams and suppliers across the globe. The candidate would be responsible to lead Engineering data improvement for Electronics Components and assemblies manufactured at EMS and contribute in data libraries development.
The candidate also need to contribute in reducing new product development times, by suggesting cost-effective and technically compatible products from strategic suppliers of the category. The applicant should have the capability to leverage data analytics & ideation principles to create, lead and execute new cost-out and VAVE project opportunities. The incumbent needs to have knowledge of requirements related to electrical and electronic products development.”
- Analyse spending data for finding out gap for cost out in different type Electronics Components & Assemblies. Experience of handling supplier discussions, leading costout/VAVE projects.
- Contribute to building strategies to drive enterprise-wide cost-out & resiliency projects for the category, working along with Global Procurement Leaders, Engineering counterparts and Supply Chain team.
- Proficient in Product Teardown analysis, Design and Competitive Benchmarking, Function analysis, and leading technical evaluations for decision-making.
- Deep understanding of Eaton Products and of the Supply Chain function.
- Demonstrates the application of basic Engineering tools/ principles and evidence of creative thinking through component selection, preliminary validation through simulations or engineering analytics.
- Confers with manufacturing, Product teams, and suppliers to resolve Design for Manufacturing, Design for Testing, Design for Assembly issues.
- Applicant should have experience of leading global projects, working with global team members & stakeholders. Should possess strong communication & interpersonal skills.
- Mentor, organise, lead, and champion projects leveraging Data Sources, resources and cross-functional team
- Understanding on electronic devices: hardware, firmware, interfaces.
- Strong knowledge of global design standards (IEC, UL, CSA, NEMA) and compliance testing such as short circuit, temperature rise, and arc tests per IEEE/IEC/UL standards.
- Hands-on experience in plants for resolving technical issues, driving LEAN initiatives, and DFSS-certified for early risk identification and robust product development.”
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics/E&TC
- Total relevant work experience: 5 to 8 years.
Skills:
- Significant hands-on experience with various electronics components selection and design methodologies.
- Understanding of electronic component specifications, lifecycles, and industry standards.
- Awareness of applicable standards and environmental compliances – IEC / UL / ISO / RoHS / REACH etc.
- Sound knowledge on spend data analysis.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of electronic component specifications, lifecycles, and industry standards.
