The u-blox has launched a high-performance L1/L5 GNSS receiver module for telematics (TCU), V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything), and navigation applications.

ZED-F9L

The u-blox, a global positioning and wireless communication provider has launched the ZED-F9L module, specifically designed for automotive applications. The company claims the module features fully integrated dead reckoning technology, a state-of-the-art six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), multiple outputs, and robust automotive-grade hardware. With an operating temperature range of up to 105 °C, the module is suitable for Telematic Control Units (TCU) and Smart Antennas. It also caters to motorbike applications and incorporates cutting-edge security features such as anti-jamming and sensor-based anti-spoofing techniques.

The press release says the module harnesses the power of L1/L5 band signals and six satellite constellations, including Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC), to deliver simultaneous and accurate positioning. Its advanced built-in algorithms combine Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) measurements, IMU data, wheel ticks, and vehicle dynamics to ensure reliable positioning and attitude, even without GNSS services. The module tracks all available satellite constellations simultaneously, maximizing position availability. It provides multiple outputs to support various system architectures and delivers a dependable protection level output. Additionally, the module incorporates advanced security features, including robust algorithms to combat spoofing and jamming attempts. Furthermore, the module offers dedicated motion models for automotive and motorcycle applications.
