A versatile AI edge PC combining Intel core and Intel arc technologies has been developed to optimise smart city, AI-assisted optical inspections, and industrial workstation solutions.
An AI edge computing solution box ‘MXM-ACMA-PUC’ has been developed by AAEON, Taiwan, incorporating technologies to meet diverse industrial demands. It integrates 13th generation Intel core processors with Intel arc graphics processing units (GPU), offering a sturdy platform for smart city applications, AI-assisted automated optical inspections, and industrial workstations. Targeted towards industries like smart cities, manufacturing, and AI-driven automation, this system promises improved performance and versatility for a wide range of technical applications.
The system box supports various 13th generation Intel core central processing units (CPU), with the Intel core i7-13700TE as its default processor, featuring 16 cores and 24 threads. For AI-driven tasks, it includes the MXM-ACMA module, which offers either an Intel arc A370E or A350E GPU. These GPUs enhance computational efficiency, making the system particularly suited for intensive machine learning workloads.
Connectivity is a key strength of the newly developed box. It is equipped with four LAN ports—three offering 2.5GbE speeds and one providing 1GbE connectivity. Additionally, it features USB 3.2 Gen 2 and RS-232/422/485 COM ports. For display capabilities, users can access one HDMI 2.0 output with 4K resolution at 60Hz and four DP++ 1.4 display options at full HD resolution.
Expansion options further boost the system’s flexibility. The inclusion of M.2 2230 E-Key, 3052 B-Key, and 2280 M-Key slots facilitates Wi-Fi, 5G connectivity, and non-volatile memory express (NVMe) storage support. This adaptability makes it an excellent choice for scenarios requiring energy efficiency combined with high-performance AI capabilities.
The computing box is ideal for smart city environments, powering advanced monitoring and data analysis, while its energy-efficient design is a boon for automated optical inspections. Furthermore, its ability to support multiple high-speed edge workstations simultaneously highlights its potential as a gateway in industrial settings. Industries requiring high AI performance and energy efficiency such as manufacturing, automation, and smart cities—stand to benefit the most from this innovative product.
It exemplifies how this technology is shaping smarter, more efficient solutions for modern industries. As the demand for reliable and scalable AI edge systems grows, innovations like these are set to redefine industrial computing standards.
