Can one battery platform address different commercial energy needs? A full-scenario approach is being tested as Europe’s C&I storage market matures.

Hoymiles has launched the HoyUltra 2000M, a commercial and industrial (C&I) battery energy storage system designed to support projects ranging from smaller commercial installations to larger energy storage deployments.
As C&I storage moves towards more project-driven deployments, developers and businesses must consider more than battery capacity. Project economics, safety, certification, operating conditions, and installation requirements can vary significantly between sites, creating demand for storage platforms that can adapt across different applications.
The system is designed to cover small, mid-size, and large C&I use cases on a common platform. This can give project developers greater flexibility when selecting storage capacity and system configurations for different sites, while reducing the need to evaluate entirely different technology platforms for each project scale. The platform is already deployed in Hungary, where 16 systems are operating at a commercial solar-plus-storage project.
The wider deployment challenge extends beyond hardware. European projects must increasingly account for regional standards, safety requirements, financial returns, and long-term operation. Experts from S&P Global Commodity Insights, LCP Delta, and TÜV SÜD discussed these factors during the Budapest event, including the changing business models and regulatory requirements shaping C&I storage.
More than 2 GWh of the company’s C&I storage systems are currently in operation worldwide, according to Hoymiles. The company is using this project experience as it engages developers, investors, and partners across European markets.
“As the European C&I market evolves, customers need more than individual products. They need solutions that can address different project scenarios and the realities of deployment,” says Guy Rong, Vice President, Hoymiles.
