ROHM announces the launch of its latest products—compact 600V Super Junction MOSFETs, namely the R6004END4, R6003KND4, R6006KND4, R6002JND4, and R6003JND4. Tailored for applications like small lighting power supplies, pumps, and motors, these devices address the growing demand for smaller and more sophisticated power supplies in modern devices.
The evolution of lighting power supplies and pump motors necessitates a size reduction, prompting the need for compact MOSFETs crucial for efficient switching operations. While achieving an optimal balance between high breakdown voltage and low ON resistance has traditionally posed challenges, the company has overcome this hurdle. Through a meticulous review of the chip’s configuration, the company successfully developed five models in the SOT-223-3 package (6.50mm × 7.00mm × 1.66mm), offering a more compact and lower-profile form factor without compromising performance.
“Presto,” an Italian musical term meaning “very fast,” inspires PrestoMOS, the company’s proprietary power MOSFET. Maintaining high withstand voltage and low ON resistance typical of Super Junction MOSFETs, PrestoMOS accelerates the reverse recovery time of the diode, reducing switching losses. Ideal for inverter circuits, it finds applications in air conditioners and refrigerators. The features include:

The lineup has three models optimised for compact power supplies. The first model is designed for low noise and is ideal for noise-sensitive applications. The other two, featuring high-speed switching capabilities, are well-suited for sets requiring low loss and high-efficiency operation. Leveraging proprietary PrestoMOS technology, they achieve significantly lower switching losses by accelerating reverse recovery time (trr), making them a perfect fit for devices equipped with motors.
