A small network system offers fast connections, flexible ports, security, storage, and wireless support for edge network use.

Axiomtek’s NA348 is a compact 1U network appliance built for edge deployments that need multiple network interfaces without taking up much space. It is designed for applications such as firewalls, SD-WAN, secure gateways, and network management across telecom, industrial, and smart-site environments.
The appliance comes with a choice of Intel Atom x7211RE dual-core or x7433RE quad-core processors and supports up to 16GB of DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM memory. Its network configuration includes four 2.5GbE RJ-45 ports, while different SKUs can add either two 1G RJ-45 ports or two 1G SFP ports. This gives users flexibility to match the appliance with different network architectures, connection distances, and deployment requirements.
For deployments where network continuity is important, the NA348 includes two LAN bypass ports. These can help maintain network traffic if the appliance experiences a failure or is taken offline for maintenance. The system also includes TPM 2.0 for hardware-based security and device integrity, supporting applications where secure network access is required.
Despite its compact 1U desktop form factor, the NA348 provides options for local storage and wireless connectivity. It supports one 2.5-inch SATA 3.0 SSD or HDD and an M.2 Key M 2242 slot. An additional M.2 Key E 2230 slot can be used for wireless modules such as Wi-Fi or LTE and supports a Nano SIM.
With its combination of 2.5GbE connectivity, flexible network interfaces, LAN bypass, storage, and wireless expansion, the NA348 can be configured for different edge networking roles. Its compact design also makes it suitable for locations where space is limited.
“In modern edge security deployments, compact platforms that support higher bandwidth, stronger system protection, and flexible connectivity can help customers build more scalable and resilient network infrastructure without increasing integration complexity. By combining the new Intel Amston Lake CPU, upgraded networking, trusted security features, and flexible deployment options, the NA348 is built to help customers modernise legacy edge network appliances with a more future-ready platform architecture.” — Mandy Chueh, Product Manager at Axiomtek.
