Can network security systems handle growing traffic without taking more rack space? A compact appliance combines fast networking with scalable expansion.

IBASE Technology has introduced the INA3609, a 1U rackmount network appliance designed for security gateways, enterprise networks, data centres, and edge infrastructure. The system combines 14th Gen Intel Core processors with multi-gigabit networking, PCIe Gen5 expansion, network bypass, and redundant power in a compact platform.
The appliance is designed for workloads that require high network throughput and continuous operation. Its combination of multiple network interfaces and expansion capacity allows system integrators to configure it for applications such as next-generation firewalls, unified threat management, VPN gateways, intrusion detection and prevention, and SD-WAN.
For connectivity, the system provides four 2.5GbE RJ45 ports, four 1GbE SFP ports, and two 10GbE SFP+ ports. This mix enables traffic to be distributed across different network segments while providing higher-speed links for bandwidth-intensive workloads.
The platform includes two PCIe Gen5 x8 expansion slots that can accommodate SSL acceleration hardware and additional network interface modules. Network bypass functionality is designed to maintain network connectivity when the appliance experiences a system interruption, helping reduce disruption in security-critical deployments.

The appliance also uses a 600W 1+1 redundant power supply configuration. If one power supply fails, the second can continue powering the system, improving availability for infrastructure where downtime can affect network operations.
The device combines processing, high-speed networking, expansion, and reliability features within a 1U chassis, allowing it to be deployed where rack space is limited. Its architecture also gives developers and system integrators flexibility to adapt the hardware to different network security workloads.
