Advanced Energy Industries, Inc., a company specializing in precision power conversion, measurement, and control solutions, have launched a revolutionary configurable power supply. The press release says that the compact power supply offers power conversion up to four times more efficient in terms of power density compared to traditional options.
The company claims that the NP08 is the first product in the NeoPower series, designed for industrial and medical applications. It has eight output power slots for various configurations and a power density of 18 W/in³. The maximum power output is 4,000 W. The NP08 includes integrated communication capabilities, with optional dongles for compatibility with major digital communication protocols, removing the need for design changes.
The configurable power supply is designed for configuration in series and parallel setups. It can function as a voltage or a current source and operates with low noise. The NP08 adheres to the medical BF safety rating and the SEMI F47 standard for voltage sag immunity.
The power supply accepts AC inputs from 90 to 264 VAC. Advanced Energy’s ConnectedPower includes interface options for the NP08 to support RS-485 (MODBUS RTU), PMBUS, and CAN BUS (CANOPEN) protocols. The connectivity of the power supply makes it suitable for IoT applications that require cloud-based monitoring and control.
