Can a connector withstand vibration, debris, and tight space constraints? A low-force design targets reliable signal transfer where every connection matters.

Planetary Systems Corporation has developed a low-force 15-pin connector pair for electrical signal transfer in spaceflight and ground-test applications. The 4000106C lower separation connector and 4000107C upper separation connector are available through Powell Electronics.
The connector pair is designed for applications where space, weight, and interface performance are critical. Its low-force mating approach and compact, low-mass construction are intended to support spacecraft integration while minimising in-flight rotation.
The connectors use spring pins to establish the electrical connection and feature a negative insertion force. They meet NASA Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL-9) requirements, supporting their use in demanding spaceflight applications.
For operation in harsh environments, the connector pair includes an EMI gasket and resistance to vibration and debris. A keyed interface helps maintain correct alignment during mating, while the supplied attachment hardware simplifies installation and integration.
The connectors are designed to work with Lightband configurations in both stowed and deployed positions. This allows the electrical interface to remain compatible across different positions within the deployment system.
The combination of low mating force, compact construction, environmental resistance, and alignment features makes the connector pair suitable for applications where electrical connections must operate reliably without adding significant mechanical or spatial demands. The company also offers the connector pair for high-reliability aerospace, defence, and industrial applications, along with design and procurement support.
