Harwin has expanded its Kontrol connector range with through hole retention, boosting mechanical strength and PCB reliability in demanding environments. The update adds 72 new products, increasing the range by 48%, and is now available in tape-and-reel packaging for automated assembly. All models are lead-free, free from restricted substances, fully RoHS compliant, and contain no REACH SVHCs.
Tests show the through hole retention feature delivers up to twice the PCB holding force of surface-mount versions. The connectors are rated for 500 mating cycles and can withstand vibration levels of 20 G for up to 12 hours.
Each connector has a 1.27 mm (0.05 inch) pitch, offers nine pin-count options from 6+6 to 40+40, and comes in vertical and horizontal formats for compact layouts. They are fully shrouded with recessed contacts for protection, polarized for one-way assembly, and equipped with location pegs for accurate soldering. The design also allows for high misalignment tolerance, with linear offsets of 2° to 4° ± 1° depending on type.
HaThe company has developed the expansion to meet rising industrial demands for vibration resistance, higher data throughput, and space efficiency by incorporating features from its high-reliability ranges into the Kontrol series.
