Many industrial, automotive and marine applications need waterproof connectors that can handle harsh conditions reliably but also have a low environmental impact. Existing solutions often force engineers to choose between durability and sustainability, leaving a gap for high performance eco friendly connectors.

Bulgin’s new Standard Vitalis Buccaneer range addresses this gap by offering a bio based alternative to its Standard Buccaneer connectors, maintaining the same technical performance while improving eco credentials.

The Standard Vitalis Buccaneer retains all trusted features of the Standard Buccaneer, including power ratings up to 12A and 277V AC/DC, configurations from two to 25 contacts, and seven body styles including flex cable, inline cable, front panel mount, rear panel mount, PCB mount, bulkhead and flange mount. With IP68 and IP69K sealing, these connectors are suited to demanding industrial, automotive and marine applications.

Sustainability is built in with up to 86 percent of the materials being bio based, using two new plastics that combine mechanical performance with eco friendliness. Packaging is made from polyethylene with a bio additive, making it fully biodegradable.

This new range reflects the company’s commitment to creating eco-friendly connectors without compromising the reliability and versatility engineers and designers depend on.

German Casillas, Managing Director at Bulgin, commented: “We’re incredibly proud of the new Standard Vitalis Buccaneer range, which really exemplifies the company’s direction in creating more sustainable technologies. We set out to launch a product that puts the environment front and centre, without compromising on the strength, reliability and durability our customers expect from us. After years of development, we’re excited to share that we’ve accomplished this feat, and we look forward to continuing our journey to a more sustainable future.”
