The 4.3-inch development board combines a touchscreen, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, audio circuitry, CAN, RS485 and GPIO expansion for embedded applications.

VIEWE has introduced the PLCM-UES31S043H800V480C-U, a 4.3-inch touchscreen development board based on Espressif’s ESP32-S31 microcontroller. The board combines wireless connectivity, audio input and output, storage and industrial communication interfaces on a single PCB, targeting human-machine interfaces (HMIs), smart control panels and connected embedded systems. It features an 800 × 480-pixel IPS display, USB connectivity, CAN and RS485 interfaces, and expansion headers for external peripherals.
The board uses an ESP32-S31-WROOM-3-N16R16V module containing the ESP32-S31NRV16 system-on-chip. Its high-performance 32-bit RISC-V processor runs at up to 320 MHz and is accompanied by a low-power MCU core. The module includes 512 KB SRAM, 32 KB low-power SRAM, 16 MB PSRAM and 16 MB flash storage. Wireless connectivity includes 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and IEEE 802.15.4 for protocols such as Zigbee and Thread.
The display is a 4.3-inch IPS TFT LCD with a resolution of 800 × 480 pixels, 400 cd/m² brightness and support for 16.2 million colours. It connects through a 24-bit RGB interface using an ST7262E43-G4 display driver. A capacitive touchscreen with a GT911 controller provides user input, making the board suitable for interactive control interfaces and embedded monitoring applications.
Audio hardware includes an ES8389 stereo audio codec, two NS4150B Class-D speaker amplifiers and two onboard analogue microphones. Speaker connectors allow external speakers to be connected, while the audio circuitry supports projects requiring voice input and sound output. A USB 2.0 Type-A port connects to the board’s USB OTG physical interface, while USB Type-C provides 5 V power, programming and serial debugging through a CH340C USB-to-UART bridge. A microSD card slot supports removable storage through SDMMC or SDIO 3.0.
For industrial and embedded integration, the board includes a terminal block exposing RS485 and CAN, alongside a 20-pin GPIO expansion header carrying UART, I²C, power and ground connections. A separate four-pin connector provides additional UART access. Four ADC buttons, BOOT and RESET buttons, a WS2812B RGB LED and a 3 kHz buzzer provide local controls and status indication. The board measures 105 × 67 mm, operates from a 5 V supply and is rated for temperatures from −20°C to +70°C.
VIEWE provides ESP-IDF examples for the display, touchscreen, audio playback, microSD storage and CAN/RS485 interfaces, as well as an LVGL-based factory user interface. Because the ESP32-S31 remains a preview platform, development currently requires the ESP-IDF master branch with the preview flag. The board is listed for US$38.99 on VIEWE’s store, with availability through its AliExpress store expected shortly after the announcement.
