Metal Enclosed Power Supplies

A new addition to its metal-enclosed AC/DC power supply family designed for industrial environments that demand high efficiency, wide input flexibility, and strong thermal endurance.

Low Power Microwave Brain Chip

Traco power introduced TXN 1000 power supplies. It delivers regulated DC outputs of 12, 15, 24, 36, or 48 V from a universal 90–264 VAC input, while maintaining a low-profile chassis for compact integration. Despite its size, it incorporates active power factor correction (PFC >0.9), remote control, load sharing, and power-good signaling—capabilities that support redundancy and distributed system scalability.

The key features are:

  • Universal input: 90–264 VAC
  • No active PFC
  • Protections: short circuit, overvoltage, overload
  • Safety approvals: IEC/EN/UL 62368-1

Efficiency is a core advantage. The series achieves up to 92% conversion efficiency, minimizing waste heat and lowering cooling requirements. Its internal EMC filter meets EN 55032 class B standards, and reinforced 3000 VAC I/O isolation ensures electrical safety in noisy industrial environments. With operating temperatures ranging from –30 °C to +70 °C, it maintains performance even in sealed or outdoor enclosures, where active cooling is often limited.

A key improvement over prior designs is its ability to handle full 1000 W loads in a single sweep, eliminating the need for multi-stage filtering or staggered configurations. This simplifies system design, shortens development cycles, and reduces BOM complexity—particularly beneficial for modular or mobile platforms. For applications such as motor drives, robotics, test equipment, and high-density control panels, it balances reliability, EMI suppression, and thermal resilience in a form factor that fits tight cabinet layouts.

Compliance is built-in: the series meets IEC/EN/UL 62368-1, European EMC directives, and Low Voltage Directive requirements. For OEMs, this reduces certification hurdles and accelerates product deployment across regions. Practical touches, including screw terminal blocks and 75 cm accessory cables, streamline installation and make the units drop-in replacements for legacy 200–500 W models without mechanical redesign.

While DIN-rail units dominate control systems, engineers seeking higher power density, thermal flexibility, and mechanical adaptability will find the series a compelling open-frame solution. Traco Power positions it as a robust, standards-ready platform where reliability, efficiency, and compliance converge—ensuring that every watt counts in demanding industrial designs.
