  • Versatile modules for robust industrial use, supporting Wi-Fi 6 adoption.
  • With multiple variants, wide temperature range, and backward compatibility, they tackle network congestion and boost power efficiency.

u-blox has introduced the MAYA-W3 family, a range of compact dual-mode Bluetooth low energy (LE) 5.4 modules featuring LE Audio. These modules also provide support for Wi-Fi 6/E. They are designed for robust industrial applications, including healthcare, industrial automation and monitoring, asset tracking and management, and smart home applications. It offers the flexibility of pairing with various antenna options, including antenna pin(s) or U.FL connectors, and incorporates a Long Term Evolution (LTE) filter for harmonious coexistence with other technologies. The choice of variant depends on the desired performance requirements.

As per TSR (Techno Systems Research CO. LTD.), the adoption of Wi-Fi 6 is projected to experience a continuous rise, with nearly half of the market expected to embrace it by 2028. Internet of Things (IoT) devices are anticipated to adopt Wi-Fi 6 as early as 2024. In line with this industry trend, the series is positioned to deliver the latest advantages of Wi-Fi 6 and the 6 GHz band to various industrial applications. It addresses issues such as network congestion and augments power efficiency. The key features include:

  • Multiple variants: Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6/E, tri-band, dual-band, and single-band configurations
  • Operational temperature: -40 ºC to +85 ºC.
  • Dimensions : 10 x 14 x 1.9 mm

These new modules additionally aid designers in expanding their solutions to align with current and future market trends. By retaining the exact compact dimensions as their predecessors, they facilitate a seamless transition across different generations. It features Bluetooth LE Audio capabilities for point-to-point voice communication and voice broadcasting. All module variations possess worldwide certifications for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
