Omni Pro Electronics has introduced a new line of 2.5G and 5G ethernet transformers to address increasing data transmission rates.
The upcoming boom of 5G technology in the communication sector may sound very heart warming for users, but the present communication infrastructure does not qualify for such demands. With the change of base, the body of the system changes as well. To meet the demands of 5G, several new upgrades are required to build a satisfactory infrastructure for this technology to rely upon.
Omni Pro Electronics has introduced a new line of 2.5G and 5G Ethernet transformers to meet the increase in data rates 5G demand. The 2.5G/5G data rates are an important intermediary step between the 1G and 10G data rates; offering increased data transfer over 1G using existing cable installs as well as lower power consumption per port when compared to 10G.
These discrete Ethernet transformers are designed to meet or exceed the IEEE802.3bz standard. Additional terms that have been used for 2.5G/5G data rates include Multi-Gig, NBASE-T, and MGBASE-T. HALO’s 2.5G and 5G transformers support 3-speed, 4-speed, and 5-speed backward compatibility with slower data rates. The devices are available in the NZ and NZ5 industry standard packages with standard temperature and extended temperature versions with PoE, PoE+, and 4PPoE (+90W) capabilities.

Applications for this capacitor include 3-phase filtering and power factor correction. The capacitor is incorporated with internal UL recognized fusing mechanisms that interrupt when pressure reaches a tested level. This surface-mount series is footprint interchangeable with other HALO Gigabit and 10G transformers.
