Antenova has released three compact antennas for Wi-Fi6 and Wi-Fi6E devices. The company has released a trio of antennae to meet the needs of different wireless communication applications. The antennas include a surface mount antenna named Billi SR43W078, a flexible antenna Lotti SRF3W077 and an external antenna called the Nitida SRE3W084. All three antennas have high efficiency and are simple to add to a product because these antennas do not require a matching network. The antennas will enable designers to add Wi-Fi6 compatibility to the devices which will bring faster networks with greater capacity that will deliver better online experiences and support simultaneous communications to many endpoints with increased security.

All three antennas use the 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands and support IEEE standards 802.11a/b/g/j/n/ac/ax. Wi-Fi6E offers a faster data transmission rate and lower network congestion. Furthermore, Wi-Fi6E adds the additional channels of the less congested 6GHz radio band to carry even more data. It will enable users to play high-quality content such as supporting 4k and 8k video streaming, networked gaming, video calling, etc without any lag using wireless connectivity. In addition to that Wi-Fi6E will complement 5G cellular services. It can become a default standard in various industries including health, education, sports and entertainment markets where networks have large numbers of simultaneous users.

Michael Castle, Product Marketing Manager with Antenova explains: “These antennas will be good for high-performing wireless devices that combine mobility with high throughput, for example, routers and USB dongles for Wi-Fi6 and Wi-Fi6E, games consoles, set-top boxes, surveillance cameras, networked IoT devices and MIMO systems. The Lotti and Nitida antennas connect directly to a PCB which makes for an easier integration and a shorter design cycle.”

According to the experts, the upcoming Wi-Fi7 standard will also utilise the 6GHz band. Therefore, these antennas are future-proof and will be able to support the upcoming Wi-Fi7 standard.
