The EA DOG series from DISPLAY VISIONS is a range of flat, modern chip-on-glass (COG) displays with an integrated driver. The display has low power consumption and is compatible with 3.3 V systems. The compact text and graphic LCDs are less than 3 mm thick and are designed as chip-on-glass displays with an integrated controller embedded into these displays. The displays are suitable for use in handheld devices such as multimeters due to their low voltage requirement and thin profile. Moreover, these displays can be used in the laboratory power supply or as a display for any other equipment.

The high-contrast EA DOG displays can be soldered directly onto the PCB and can be controlled using various communication protocols. Direct soldering on the PCB reduces the cost for the manufacturer and also ensures that the set-up doesn’t become bulky. It enables the users to place a backlight behind the display and solder it into the PCB with the display, thus making the process faster and cheaper as no additional fastening is required. The text and graphic displays are available in 13 different sizes, from 55×31 mm to 94×67 mm.

The EA DOG displays run with 3.3 V without auxiliary voltage and have a low current consumption between 150 and 900 µA depending on the model and size. These displays can be controlled using a 3 or 4-wire SPI, or, for some models, a 2-wire I²C or 4 or 8-bit data bus. The models include 6 text displays with one to four lines and 7 graphic displays with resolutions between 102×64 pixels to 240×128 pixels.

Display Vision offers five high-contrast LCD models which include reflective and transmissive STN, STN with blue background and black/white positive and negative FSTN. The contrast voltage of all the displays can be set manually by command. Moreover, the graphic displays can be rotated 180° for mechanical reasons or to make them easier to read, which makes it suitable for a wide variety of operations such as for installation in the front of a laboratory power supply unit. Furthermore, the EA DOG displays can also be combined with a touch screen to enhance the functionality of the display. The company also guarantees long-term availability of up to 10 years making it an excellent solution to use for products as it ensures replenishment for product lines designed to be long-term.
