Orange Pi Zero 4 Adds A 3 TOPS NPU For $26.50

The compact Orange Pi Zero 4 single-board computer combines an Allwinner A733 processor with up to 8GB RAM, dual display output, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 and PCIe expansion.

Orange Pi has introduced the Orange Pi Zero 4, a compact single-board computer based on the Allwinner A733 processor. Measuring just 55 × 50 mm, the board supports up to 8GB of RAM and provides storage options including a microSD card slot, eMMC and UFS 3.0.

The Allwinner A733 combines two Arm Cortex-A76 cores running at up to 2.0 GHz with six Cortex-A55 cores running at up to 1.79 GHz. It also includes a RISC-V E902 core for real-time tasks, an Imagination Technologies GPU, an NPU offering 3 TOPS of AI performance, and video decoding support up to 8Kp24.

Display connectivity includes a Mini HDMI 2.0 port supporting up to 4Kp60 and USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode with up to 4Kp60 output. The board can support two independent displays and also provides two four-lane MIPI CSI connectors for cameras.

Networking features include Gigabit Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. Expansion options include a 26-pin GPIO header, a 13-pin function interface and a 16-pin FPC connector providing PCIe Gen3 x1 connectivity. The board also includes USB-C ports, a fan header and onboard LEDs.

Orange Pi plans to provide Orange Pi OS and Android images for the board, although software downloads were not yet available at the time of reporting. The Orange Pi Zero 4 is offered in 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 6GB and 8GB RAM configurations, positioning it as a compact SBC for embedded, multimedia, networking and general-purpose computing applications.
