The battery-powered handheld unit delivers high-precision DC voltage, resistance, thermocouple, and RTD simulation for industrial calibration tasks.

A new handheld process calibrator by KUSAM-MECO designed for temperature signal generation is now available for field engineers and maintenance professionals seeking higher accuracy and portability in industrial environments. The battery-powered instrument combines electrical and thermal signal output capabilities in a compact format, enabling on-site calibration of transmitters, indicators, controllers, and monitoring systems.
The key features are:
- Dual-range DC voltage output: 100 mV / 1 V with 0.05% accuracy
- Resistance simulation: 400 Ω & 4 kΩ ranges
- Supports 11 thermocouple types including R, S, K, J, T, N
- RTD simulation: PT100 to PT1000 (385) and Cu50
- 5½-digit display with 3 × AA battery operation
The device supports analog output of DC voltage, resistance, thermocouple (TC), and thermal resistance (RTD) parameters. For voltage calibration, it offers dual ranges of 100 mV and 1 V, with fine resolutions of 0.01 mV and 0.0001 V respectively. The stated accuracy of 0.05% + 0.03 mV ensures precise simulation for sensitive instrumentation testing.
Resistance output is available in two selectable ranges 400 Ω and 4 kΩ with resolutions of 0.1 Ω and 1 Ω. Accuracy is rated at 0.05% + 0.2, supporting reliable loop testing and resistance-based calibration workflows.
For temperature applications, the calibrator supports multiple thermocouple types including R, S, K, E, J, T, N, B, A, C and D, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial temperature measurement scenarios. Thermocouple accuracy is specified at 0.05% + 3°C.In addition, the instrument simulates RTDs such as PT100 (385), PT200 (385), PT500 (385), PT1000 (385), and Cu50, with an accuracy of 0.05% + 0.6°C. This broad compatibility allows technicians to verify and calibrate temperature instrumentation across manufacturing, utilities, process plants, and laboratory settings.
The calibrator features a 5½-digit display for clear and detailed readouts. Powered by three AA LR6 batteries, it is engineered for portability and extended field operation without dependence on mains power. With its combination of multi-parameter output, high resolution, and compact design, the instrument addresses the growing need for versatile, field-ready calibration tools in process industries.
