Congatec has introduced a product family, aReady.COM, as part of its aReady strategy, aimed at simplifying embedded and edge computing technology implementation. The product offers pre-configured embedded building blocks, such as Computer-on-Modules (COM) and cloud solutions, to streamline integration for OEMs and developers in the embedded and edge computing industry.

These pre-configured aReady.COMs come with application-ready hypervisors, operating systems, and IIoT software setups that customers can customize. This simplifies the integration of various IIoT functionalities and underlying layers in embedded and edge computing systems, enabling developers to boot the customized COMs and install their applications.
The initial product features the ctrlX OS from Bosch Rexroth, with more products planned under the aReady strategy in the future.
It provides customers with computer-on-modules in a fully validated package, ready for applications, including virtualization, operating systems, and software layers. This allows OEMs to easily integrate their applications and accelerate their time-to-market by focusing solely on application development.
Regarding hardware, COM offers a hypervisor integrated into the firmware and integrated memory for installing operating systems and IIoT applications according to individual requirements. For instance, using the Linux-based ctrlX OS from Bosch Rexroth enables access to the ctrlX OS World and app portfolio of the ctrlX Store for PLC applications, motion control, communication, and engineering tools, including a range of IoT and cloud apps such as firewalls and VPN clients.
