A newly developed Smart Power Distribution and Monitoring System that helps users manage power and monitor multiple electronic devices from a single unit. It has been designed with several independently controlled power outlets that include current sensing. This allows users to arrange the workbench devices as well as monitor power usage and estimate electricity cost from one interface.

This device consists of eight independent power outlets. These outlets contain three 5 V power outlets, two 9 V power outlets, and three 12 V power outlets. The design can be adapted to support different output voltages. The ESP32 microcontroller manages all the outlets using the MOSFETs and voltage regulators deliver the required power. The INA219 current sensors enable current monitoring, power consumption measurement and protection.

Unlike standard power strips, the system allows integration of both power supply and power monitoring functions in a single unit. Individual loads can be monitored by users while controlling multiple devices through a common display and control interface. This data can also be used to estimate electrical costs.

Barrel jacks are used instead of USB ports, avoiding the voltage limitations of USB connections while supporting multiple output voltages. Adaptor cables can be utilised wherever required.

This small-scale system would be suitable for use in electronics laboratories, development workbenches and engineering workstations for multiple power supplies. Through this, configuration of power distribution and protection, along with current monitoring of multiple power rails in a single ESP32-based system, provides a centralised approach to powering and monitoring multiple electronic devices.
