FUJIFILM has introduced Sonosite iLOOK, a compact point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) system developed specifically for vascular access procedures. Designed for bedside use, the solution combines a purpose-built user interface, a wireless transducer and flexible mounting options to support clinicians performing vascular access in a range of healthcare settings.

The transducer is intended to address the growing adoption of ultrasound-guided vascular access, which can improve procedural accuracy and consistency compared with traditional landmark-based techniques. By providing a dedicated imaging platform for vascular access, healthcare organisations can reserve their general-purpose ultrasound systems for broader diagnostic applications while ensuring clinicians have continuous access to a specialised device for routine procedures.

The system supports arterial, venous and peripheral intravenous (PIV) examinations. It includes B-mode (Brightness mode), Colour Velocity Doppler (CVD) and Colour Power Doppler (CPD) imaging to help clinicians visualise blood vessels and guide needle placement. The simplified interface is designed to provide quick access to the controls and imaging modes most relevant to vascular access, reducing unnecessary complexity during procedures.

The wireless transducer weighs approximately 170g, allowing greater freedom of movement around the bedside while eliminating cable management challenges. The system also supports VESA-compatible mounting for deployment in different clinical environments and includes an integrated charging dock with visual status indicators to simplify charging and monitor device readiness. In addition, users gain access to educational resources through the Sonosite Institute, including training focused on ultrasound-guided vascular access techniques.
