I had the privilege to lead the volunteering team for this amazing conference “ The India Electronics Week 2017” conducted by EFY Group. Again, volunteering is my passion which gives me a feeling of having done something worthy (If you do, that is). Being an ECE student myself, it was a great opportunity in front of me to be part of one of the largest Electronics conferences in the country. I readily grabbed the opportunity with both hands, thanks to Dilin who was my mentor at EFY! Also it gave me an opportunity to visit Bangalore with my friends.( The trip mood set)
Choosing to volunteer with IEEE was one of the best decisions I made when I entered college(if not the best). IEEE gave me the opportunity, exposure and truck loads of confidence. It gave me a lot of mentors whom I still look upto. So there was this “ experience ’’ of organizing a number of events and handling different kinds of people with me. But still, every event is a new experience!
So we set out to Bangalore with lots of plans ( night outs, shopping, pub visits and what not! )
“ Dude! Its Bangalore ’’(Lots and lots of excitement, And we were bunking classes and going)
I had no clue what was in store initially!
Since this was my first time at IEW, my expectations were very different. Initially for me it was just another volunteering experience that would look good on my CV. Little did I know that it would be the place where I would create some amazing memories and connect with such great people! Those 3 days of the conference were so exhausting and chaotic, everybody running around to get work done, so much needed to be organised and planned, to put up an excellent show. ( We did put one, Credit goes to my team).
We got a chance to interact with the best minds in the industry and budding entrepreneurs. The IOT expo was simply amazing which was the highlight of the conference. The top companies that were part of the expo included Microsoft, Qualcomm and Intel, to name a few.
Lots of learning and networking over the course of 3 days. It is all worth it in the end, the whole environment is so positive and energetic, you feel lucky to be a part of something like this. Looking forward to come back next year.
