Digital Storage Oscilloscopes For Signal Analysis

The oscilloscope series provides up to 4 GHz bandwidth, high-speed sampling, and signal analysis and visualisation tools.

Siglent has introduced the SDS7000A series of digital storage oscilloscopes, which provide bandwidth options of 4 GHz and 3 GHz. These oscilloscopes come with 12-bit ADCs and a high sampling rate of up to 20 GSa/s. They feature a maximum record length of 1 Gpts/ch and can display up to 4 analogue and 16 digital channels, making them ideal for advanced mixed-signal analysis.

Utilising Siglent’s SPO technology, the SDS7000A series offers an impressive waveform capture rate of up to 1,000,000 wfm/s. They include a 256-level intensity grading display and a colour temperature mode for enhanced visualisation. A unique aspect of these oscilloscopes is their advanced digital trigger system, which offers high sensitivity and low jitter. This system supports various triggering modes, including sophisticated ones like serial bus triggering.

The series is also well-equipped for comprehensive waveform analysis, featuring tools such as History waveform recording, Search and navigation functions, Signal Scan, Mask Test, Bode Plot, Power Analysis, Eye/Jitter Analysis, and Compliance Test. These tools facilitate the detailed capture, storage, and analysis of extended waveform records. The oscilloscopes also have a range of measurement and maths functions, offer an optional 50 MHz arbitrary waveform generator, and have serial decoding capabilities supporting protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN, and more.

Some of the key specifications of the oscilloscopes include:

  • Analogue channels: 4 + EXT
  • Bandwidth: 4 GHz
  • Sample rate (Max.): 20 GSa/s (dual-channel), 10 GSa/s (3 or 4 channels)
  • Vertical Resolution: 12-bit, Up to 16-bit in ERES mode
  • Memory depth (Max.): Standard: 500 Mpts/ch, Optional: 1 Gpts/ch in dual-channel mode
  • Waveform capture rate (Max.): 1,000,000 wfm/s

The SDS7000A series is also designed for user convenience, featuring a 15.6-inch HD capacitive touch screen that supports multi-touch gestures and a user-friendly UI. They also support mouse control and can be operated remotely over a LAN connection.
