Qorvo has introduced a new power amplifier designed to simplify sub-1 GHz radio frequency (RF) design across multiple wireless applications, from industrial IoT and smart metering to public safety communications and logistics systems. The QPA9510a wideband, high-efficiency RF amplifier covers a broad frequency range of 100 MHz to 1 GHz, offering engineers a single, flexible solution for systems that previously required multiple region-specific amplifiers.

With power-added efficiency (PAE) reaching 55%, the device addresses one of the biggest challenges in RF front-end designmaintaining strong signal strength while keeping power consumption low, especially for battery-driven and remote IoT systems.

The key features are:

  • Delivers +36 dBm output power for strong signal performance
  • Provides 34 dB gain in a compact 3 × 3 mm QFN package
  • Features analog gain control range over 70 dB for precise tuning
  • Enables fine signal optimization and simplified system calibration

The amplifier’s wideband capability means that a single design can operate efficiently across sub-GHz frequency bands used worldwide, such as 315 MHz, 433 MHz, 868 MHz, and 915 MHz. This flexibility eliminates the need for separate amplifiers or redesigns for each market, significantly reducing development time, bill-of-materials cost, and board space. Moreover, its high thermal efficiency supports stable operation even in compact enclosures or handheld devices where heat dissipation can be a limiting factor.
