Security screening systems combine metal detection, AI analytics, and thermal screening to improve threat detection, reduce false alarms, and speed up security checks.

Hikvision India has expanded its security inspection portfolio with a new range of Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD) and Hand-Held Metal Detectors (HHMD), aimed at strengthening screening operations across airports, metro stations, government buildings, hotels, stadiums, and critical infrastructure facilities.
The company’s latest lineup focuses on improving threat detection at entry points while reducing delays and false alarms during security checks. Designed for high-footfall environments, the systems are capable of identifying concealed metallic threats, prohibited items, explosives, and contraband without slowing the movement of people through checkpoints.
Among the newly introduced products is the ISD-SMG924L-H, a 24-zone walkthrough metal detector developed for high-security applications. The system is intended for deployment in locations such as airports, industrial facilities, and government premises, where both accurate detection and uninterrupted crowd flow are critical requirements.
The expanded portfolio reflects Hikvision India’s broader push beyond video surveillance into integrated security infrastructure. The company is positioning its inspection products as part of a connected ecosystem that works alongside surveillance cameras, access control systems, and centralized command centers. AI-powered analytics built into the platform are designed to help operators reduce false positives, speed up screening, and respond to threats more efficiently.
Hikvision’s walkthrough metal detectors also incorporate thermal screening capabilities, allowing contactless temperature checks for employees, visitors, and staff while conducting routine security scans. The integration of multiple screening functions into a single system is aimed at improving operational efficiency at large facilities and public venues.
The company says the products are being manufactured under its Make-in-India initiative and supported through its nationwide service network. The solutions are targeted at sectors where security screening and crowd management have become increasingly important due to evolving threat scenarios and rising passenger and visitor volumes.
