Autotalks is launching a new line of V2X products for e-bikes and e-scooters to connect vulnerable road users (VRUs) to the vehicle safety network. The products are designed to help drivers and cyclists detect each other and reduce the risk of collisions, especially at intersections and in urban areas.

The new range includes the TEKTON3-BIKE system-on-chip (SoC), developed for micromobility vehicles. It is based on the company’s TEKTON3-AUTO chipset and is designed to handle V2X safety requirements for bicycles and scooters.

TEKTON3-BIKE includes built-in V2X firmware for micromobility safety applications. These include Intersection Collision Warning (ICW) and Rear Collision Warning (RCW). The firmware can also be customised and expanded for additional safety applications. The chip includes security features and supports V2X communication requirements across different regions.

Autotalks is also introducing ZooZ3, a third-generation V2X bicycle safety device based on the TEKTON3-BIKE chipset. The device can be installed on the handlebars of a bicycle or scooter and is intended as a reference platform for micromobility deployments and large-scale pilots.

ZooZ3 provides alerts to cyclists when the V2X system detects a potential road hazard. Its installation allows existing bicycles and scooters to be equipped with V2X capabilities without requiring a complete vehicle redesign.

The company also offers the ZooZ App for smartphones. The app can display real-time alerts received from the bicycle’s V2X system, allowing cyclists to respond to potential hazards. Autotalks says the app can also serve as a reference for safety interfaces on bike computers that integrate V2X.

The V2X communication is handled by dedicated cycling hardware rather than the smartphone itself. The smartphone app is used to display safety alerts received from the V2X system.

“We are delighted to introduce our solutions for micromobility based on our 3rd generation chipset,” said Hagai Zyss, CEO of Autotalks. “The vision of zero accidents can only be achieved by safeguarding cyclists and other vulnerable road users. This is why we have dedicated ourselves to integrating them into the V2X network and have developed this integration-ready product line, which meets all the needs of cyclists at an attractive price point, ensuring that every cyclist can benefit from this superior protection on the road.”
