Location: On-site (Maker Village, KINFRA Hi-Tech Park, Kalamassery, Kochi, Kerala)
Company: Grafito Innovations
Role Overview
Duration: 2–3 Months
As a PCB Design Engineer Intern, you will be an integral part of Grafito’s electronics team, responsible for building and validating the custom circuit boards that power our agricultural automation machinery. This is a hands-on role where your work directly impacts the hardware at the heart of our grafting robots.
What You’ll Do
- Design PCB circuit boards using industry-standard tools such as EasyEDA and KiCad, from schematic capture through to layout and fabrication-ready outputs
- Perform in-depth technical analysis, circuit simulations, and signal integrity checks to validate designs before manufacturing
- Conduct thorough PCB reviews to identify and correct errors — including design rule violations, component placement issues, and routing problems — before boards go to production
- Follow and uphold good PCB design practices including proper grounding, decoupling, trace width calculations, and layer stack planning
- Read, interpret, and extract key specifications from component datasheets to make informed design decisions and component selections
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine passion for electronics, IoT, and robotics systems — someone who tinkers, experiments, and genuinely loves the craft
- Great attention to detail: errors in PCB design can cause component failures, machine downtime, and real financial losses — precision matters
- Strong foundational knowledge or a demonstrated ability to learn across analog electronics (op-amps, filters, sensors), digital electronics (microcontrollers, logic, communication interfaces), and power electronics (regulators, converters, protection circuits)
- Ability to work independently on-site, manage tasks, and communicate progress clearly
Eligibility
- Freshers and currently enrolled college students are warmly welcome to apply — no prior professional experience is required
- Background in Electronics / Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics or related fields preferred
- Must be willing to complete a short screening assignment as part of the selection process
