Responsibilities
- Circuit Prototyping & Assembly: Design and solder custom circuit boards (Perfboard/PCB) for table tennis robots using ESP32, L298N/L293D motor drivers, and sensors.
- Power Management: Wire and manage 12V Li-Ion battery packs, ensuring safe power distribution to 5V (controllers) and 12V (motors) using buck converters and BMS.
- Hardware Integration: Assemble motors, servos, and electronics into 3D-printed mechanical chassis (parts provided by the team) to create finished prototypes.
- Retrofitting: Convert an existing Wired Robot into a Wireless IoT Robot by replacing the old motherboard with a new custom ESP32 circuit.
- Remote Control Build: Solder and assemble a handheld wireless remote using potentiometers, switches, and charging modules.
- Cable Management: Ensure all wiring inside the robot is neat, secured, and professional-grade (avoiding “spaghetti wiring”)

Other Requirements
- Portfolio over Grades: We prefer candidates who can show photos/videos of past DIY projects (RC Cars, Drones, IoT home automation) over those with just high academic marks.
- Tool Proficiency: Must be comfortable using a multimeter for debugging and a Soldering Iron for permanent circuit assembly.
- Battery Safety: Basic knowledge of handling Li-Ion/Li-Po batteries (charging, discharging, and BMS wiring) is highly preferred to avoid accidents.
- Hardware Ownership: Having your own basic toolkit (wire strippers, screwdriver set) is a plus, though we provide major tools.
- Tech Stack: Prior hands-on experience with ESP32/ESP8266 and motor drivers (L298N) is mandatory.
