Microchip Technology has introduced a chip-down reference design to simplify the development of compact multi-protocol wireless modules. Intended for consumer, industrial and wireless networking applications, the platform provides a validated hardware implementation that helps engineers reduce development time while accelerating the journey from design to production. It also includes comprehensive design guidance covering every stage of the product lifecycle.
The reference design is designed to ensure reliable radio frequency performance through proven hardware design practices. It provides guidelines on radio frequency layout, antenna design and general PCB designs to aid engineers in ensuring that the wireless performance is optimised without falling into typical design pitfalls.
In order to simplify the process of product qualification, there is information on how to calibrate and test the wireless components to ensure they meet regulatory requirements for certification and mass production.
