Kitron is currently looking for a Component Engineer, based in Chennai, India. The person in this position will be responsible for assigned products by assisting customers on component issues in all production stages and being internal support for component-related questions within all Kitron Group sites.
Job Description:
- Check, verify and acquire written approval from the customer for the BOM (bill of materials).
- Register and maintain component information in CIS (component information system) and ERP systems by following standard rules; create cross-references between the customer and Kitron item number; prepare a component list and upload it into ERP.
- Handle PCN (Product Change Notification).
- Handle BOM changes and revisions in the ERP system (ECO – engineering change order).
- Suggest replacements for currently used components and if required, initiate tests for alternatives.
- Convey life cycle analysis (LCA) for BOM.
- Participate in projects across the organisation and perform other relevant tasks delegated by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Electronics or a closely related field (12+3 years of education).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant Work Experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of electronic components.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
