What challenges emerge as electronic assemblies grow more complex? Two upcoming inspection platforms aim to address demands for faster, more precise manufacturing quality control.

Koh Young Technology will unveil its KY8030 Nova solder paste inspection (SPI) system and Zenith Nova UHP automated optical inspection (AOI) platform at NEPCON Asia 2026, Shenzhen, China.
The systems are designed to help electronics manufacturers improve inspection efficiency, maintain quality in high-volume production and address increasingly complex assemblies. By combining inspection performance with measurement accuracy, they aim to help manufacturers balance production throughput with defect detection requirements.
The KY8030 Nova is engineered to deliver shorter inspection cycle times while maintaining measurement accuracy and repeatability. The Zenith Nova UHP combines high-speed inspection, high resolution and the ability to inspect tall components, extending its suitability to demanding assembly applications.
Other systems on display will demonstrate inspection capabilities for specific manufacturing challenges. The Zenith UHS 9-way automated optical inspection system uses nine viewing directions to inspect components and solder joints, supporting components up to 60mm high. The Neptune C+ uses 3D measurement to assess the presence, position, coverage and dimensions of underfill and other transparent or translucent dispensing materials.
For semiconductor and advanced packaging applications, the Meister S+ supports flux inspection, while the Meister D+ focuses on detecting die cracks.
The company will also showcase AI-based software for programming, defect classification and process optimisation. KAP automates inspection-program creation, Smart Review supports defect classification, and KPO Printer and KPO Mounter use inspection data to help optimise solder paste printing and component placement. KSMART provides analytics on production performance, yield, defects and process trends.
“Accurate True 3D measurement, advanced inspection platforms, and AI-powered software can work together to turn production data into practical action,” says Steven Choi, Managing Director of Koh Young China.
