Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for automation and material handling solutions such as conveyors, robotics, ASRS, palletizers, gantry systems, AGVs/AMRs, etc.
- Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable routing using tools like EPLAN / AutoCAD Electrical.
- Selection and sizing of electrical components such as PLCs, HMIs, drives (VFD/Servo), sensors, relays, MCCBs, power supplies, and field devices.
- Design control panels including BOM preparation, GA drawings, and layout optimization.
- Work closely with mechanical, controls, software, manufacturing, and project teams for integrated system design.
- Support PLC/automation team with I/O lists, wiring details, and system architecture.
- Ensure compliance with electrical standards, safety norms, and industry best practices.
- Participate in design reviews and implement continuous improvements in design standards.
- Provide technical support during panel manufacturing, machine assembly, testing, and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues during installation and commissioning at site.
- Maintain proper documentation, revision control, and engineering standards.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for component selection and technical clarifications.
Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- Minimum 1+ year of experience in electrical design, preferably in automation, robotics, or material handling industry.
- Hands-on experience in EPLAN / AutoCAD Electrical (mandatory).
- Good understanding of industrial automation systems, control panels, and wiring practices.
- Knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.), HMIs, VFDs, Servo systems, sensors, and field instrumentation.
- Familiarity with panel design standards (IEC/IS), electrical safety norms, grounding, and protection systems.
- Ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into practical electrical designs.
- Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.) is preferred.
- Knowledge of cable sizing, load calculations, and power distribution.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Self-driven, proactive, and eager to learn new technologies.
- Willingness to visit shop floor and project sites when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related field is preferred (experience is valued at Anzo Controls).
