This role is suitable for candidates with strong fundamentals in power electronics hardware design, EV high-voltage systems, analog/digital circuits, semiconductor devices, and product development from concept to functional prototype.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hardware for 400V EV power electronics systems including Motor Control Unit/Traction Inverter, Power Distribution Unit, On-Board Charger, DC-DC Converter, DC Bus interconnect architecture, X-in-1 system level integration
  • Perform detailed hardware architecture definition based on system requirements, vehicle requirements, power ratings, thermal limits, safety requirements, and packaging constraints.
  • Select suitable components for high voltage EV applications, including IGBT/SiC/MOSFET, Gate Drivers, DC Link Capacitors, Sensors, Sensing circuits, contactors, fuses, magnetics, EMI/EMC filters, Busbars, etc
  • Carry out component derating analysis and prepare design calculations
  • Develop detailed schematics for power stages, gate drivers, sensing paths, auxiliary power supplies, protections, control cards, comm interfaces, HVIL and safety circuits
  • Work closely with PCB layout engineers for high–current layout, high voltage creepage and clearance, loop optimisations, EMI-EMC sensitive routing, isolation barriers, vias and copper balancing, grounding, etc.
  • Carry out functional bring-up of prototype hardware boards and complete EV power electronics systems.
  • Perform board-level and subsystem-level testing.
  • Support integration testing with motor, gearbox, battery simulator, dyne, vehicle controller and BMS.
  • Support integration of MCU, PDU, OBC, DC-DC, motor, gearbox, cooling system and control electronics into a compact X-in-1 EV drivetrain system.
  • Support design reviews, schematic reviews, PCB reviews, prototype reviews and customer/OEM technical discussions.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, thermal, software, motor, gearbox and vehicle integration teams.

Eligibility

  • Total experience – 3 to 5 years in power electronics hardware design, preferably in EV, automotive, industrial drives, chargers, DC-DC converters, motor controllers or high-voltage systems.
  • M.E. / M.Tech in Power Electronics and Drives.
  • The candidate should have knowledge of power electronics fundamentals, HV EV systems, components selection, magnetics design, schematic design, thermal and electrical derating, EMI EMC design basic

Desired Skills
