Brief Job Description

This position provides an exciting opportunity to advance your Engineering and Engineering Services career with one of the Honeywell’s most profitable and dynamic Business units. This role would support Obsolescence Management process, component management, product Cost take out efforts and other Change Management process covering engineering team, supply chain and manufacturing plants located globally across the business. In this role, you are responsible for effective management of new part introduction, NPI and support PPL and PSL initiative.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Participate in new part creation and release process.
  • Responsible for all new component proposal and their implementation through collaborative effort with Engineering teams.
  • Proficient with component data management
  • Identify low-cost proposals and cost reduction opportunities for high-cost components
  • Accountable for NPI risk assessment and life cycle issue mitigation to ensure flawless product launch.
  • Collaborate with Component Manufacturer, Distributors and Sourcing functions to channelize PCNs/PDNs covering entire Component Data Base.
  • Responsible for assessing lifecycle risk of Obs. critical Components and mitigate the risk proactively

Experience and Education Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
  • 4 to 7 Years of professional experience in Component Engineering, hardware design and development.
  • Experience in value engineering, component engineering and obsolescence Management
  • Prior experience in collaboratively working with remote/global team on new product development/designs.
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management principles and procedures.

Other Skills and Traits Required

  • Strong Technical expertise and application needs of all electrical, electronic and electromechanical components.
  • Strong understanding of Component Life Cycle Status and related impacts on Product Development and Supply Chain. Proactive Obsolescence knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to understand design requirements through Schematics and Design Inputs.
  • A clear understanding of Component Change Management Process and PLM tools.
  • Exposure to full design life cycle in new product development.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills – MS Excel/MS Access/Etc.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Able to excel in a multi-cultural Global organization.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
  • 4 to 7 Years of professional experience in Component Engineering, hardware design and development.
