Developed as an accessible entry-level solution, the C05-LT offers a streamlined, user-friendly experience without sacrificing functionality. Its compact size, affordability, and ease of use make it ideal for single-cell PEM fuel cell testing in both research and development environments.

The test solution delivers precise control of temperature, pressure, and flow, enabling rigorous and reliable test performance. It preconditions test gases through controlled heating and humidification, then applies an electrical load to initiate and analyze electrochemical reactions in PEM fuel cells. Designed for simplicity, its plug-and-play software requires no coding, allowing researchers to conduct accurate tests on single cells or stacks up to 100W with minimal setup time.

Despite its compact form, the C05-LT is a high-performance, next-generation testing platform offering exceptional repeatability and precision as standard. Supported by HORIBA’s extensive global service network, users benefit from expert maintenance, calibration, and ongoing technical support to ensure optimal system performance—wherever they are in the world.

Key features of the C05-LT include:

  • Manual back-pressure regulation
  • Humidifier water level sensing and auto-filling
  • Nitrogen crossover testing capability
  • Independent safety systems and automated purging for semi-autonomous operation
  • Configurable flow rates and loads tailored to specific user needs
  • Integrated TestWork® sequence configuration for efficient test planning

“We developed the C05-LT specifically with university researchers and engineers in mind, as we recognised their need for a cost effective and easy-to-use PEM fuel cell test system to accurately and reliably support accelerated research and development,” said Richard Carter, Chief Commercial Officer, HORIBA UK. “Quick and easy test startup is essential to researchers, so we’ve designed the C05-LT as a plug-and-play system with pre-programmed test sequences to eliminate need for coding, and enable precise, automated experiments across all testing scenarios.”
