RECOM has introduced the RACM15E-K series to their AC/DC power conversion product line. This series offers up to 15W output for an 80-275VAC input and is available in two mechanical formats: the open-frame /OF version with Molex connectors, sized 3.1 x 0.9 x 0.8 inches (80 x 23.8 x 22mm), and the /PMAD version with an IP20-rated enclosure for chassis or DIN rail mounting with Push-in Terminals that accept both stranded and solid wire, sized 3.2 x 1.1 x 1.1 inches (83 x 26.4 x 29.5mm). These parts fit a standard 1.5-module DIN rail slot with no spacing restrictions to adjacent modules.
The features include:
- Operating temperature range: -40°C to +85°C
- Derating starts from 50°C ambient in still air
- Achieves up to 86% efficiency
The series offers single regulated outputs at 3.3V (12W-rated), 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, and 30VDC, all rated at 15W. They are fully protected against over-voltage, overload, and short circuits, featuring a constant current limit characteristic for non-linear loads and a self-resetting ‘hiccup’ mode for short circuits. They are certified under IEC/EN 62368-1, IEC/EN 60335-1, IEC 61558, and IEC 60601-1/ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 for safety. In medical applications, the parts are rated 2 x MOPP, over-voltage category II (OVCII) to 5000m altitude, and meet ‘BF’ touch current specifications for applied-part applications. They are also usable in OVCIII environments up to 3000m per IEC 61558-2-16 and IEC 60335-1. The no-load current is typically less than 100mW to meet eco-design requirements, and they meet the conducted EMI standard EN 55032 Class B with a floating load.
The series achieves good efficiency, ensuring cool operation, long life, and high reliability, with an MTBF of over 1M hours according to MIL-HDBK-217, ground benign environment. Typical applications include industrial automation, industrial measurement equipment, medical homecare devices, building automation, monitoring, and household equipment.The parts include a three-year warranty, with samples and OEM pricing available from authorized distributors or directly from RECOM.
