The congatec has expanded its aReady. software building blocks to support Arm-based Computer-on-Modules. The first product in this expansion is the conga-SMX95 SMARC module, built on processors from NXP Semiconductors in the i.MX 95 processors family. The platform combines ready-to-use hardware and software so OEMs can bring applications to market faster and reduce development effort when working with Arm designs.

The module is part of the aReady.COM concept, which combines customizable Computer-on-Modules with pre-integrated software building blocks. OEMs can receive the conga-SMX95 preconfigured with a bootloader, operating systems such as Ubuntu or Kontron OS, and a hypervisor for system consolidation.

It also includes the aReady.IoT software conga-connect, which supports device management, secure IIoT connectivity setup, and remote application management. These features reduce setup work, simplify configuration, and can lower the overall bill of materials.

The modules also support the IEC 62443 cybersecurity standard, enabling basic security requirements from the start. At the highest integration level, congatec can also pre-install a customer’s application, allowing the module to boot and run the software as soon as it is connected to a carrier board.

“Compared to x86, Arm designs often require greater initial integration effort, but offer higher efficiency,” explains Martin Danzer, Director Product Management at congatec. “With aReady.COM for Arm based on the NXP i.MX 95 applications processor, we provide our customers with tangible value adds that accelerate time-to-dollar and maximize the business impact of their applications, enabling them to serve their addressable markets more effectively. Preconfigured, installed, and licensed core functions and software for operation, system consolidation, and IoT connectivity make the congatec module a highly efficient solution. Customers who previously avoided Arm designs due to their complexity can now leverage the aReady framework as a design foundation with optimally coordinated hardware and software.”
