THine Solutions has released theTHEIA-CAM 13MP PDAF Camera, the THSCP101, which the company claims provides high-resolution image streaming with OLogic’s Pumpkin i350 and Pumpkin i500 Evaluation Kits (EVKs). These EVKs are driven by MediaTek Genio 350 and Genio 500 System on Chips (SoCs), establishing edge processing platforms for AI + IoT systems. The kit includes essential components like a camera board in an acrylic case, a flat flexible cable, an adaptor board supporting 2 Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI) Camera Serial Interface 2 (CSI-2) ports of the EVK, and a software driver for image streaming and control.
THine’s optimized Image Signal Processor (ISP) firmware delivers top-notch image quality and swift autofocus through Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) technology. The kit’s performance remains consistent for mass production. The company says the production process characterizes image sensor parameters and calibrates image signal processing to mitigate sensor-to-sensor variation. The company offers a GUI-based software development tool to customize ISP firmware for unique image performance needs. This streamlines MediaTek Genio platform customers’ time-to-market, eliminating high initial costs and extra embedded camera system development.
