Advanced Energy Industries has expanded its AIF full-brick board-mounted AC-DC power supply series for telecom and industrial applications with the AIF13WAC, a 48 V, 600 W unit with peak efficiency of up to 94%.

The company claims that the AC-DC power supply series delivers 20% more output power than the previous generation while maintaining the same form factor, making it compatible with all accessories designed for earlier versions, including case kits, heatsinks, and EMI filters. It provides an easy upgrade path for contact-cooled, fanless systems such as IP-sealed designs, allowing higher power than the prior 500 W products.

Unlike most devices in this class, the AIF13WAC integrates full digital control and monitoring via PMBus, active current sharing, and internal inrush limiting functionality. It also adds an auxiliary output of 10 V, 250 mA, and other enhancements that extend flexibility beyond what is typically available in comparable platforms.

The new series accepts a wide input voltage range of 90–264 VAC and delivers a 13 A, 48 VDC nominal output. It is housed in a 2.4 × 4.6 × 0.55-inch full-brick form factor and can operate with up to three units in parallel. The input EMI filter, hold-up capacitors, and output capacitors are the only external components required to implement a complete application design.

“The growing demand for higher-power solutions makes seamless system upgrades essential. The AIF13WAC meets this need by offering a drop‑in replacement for earlier generations, within the same form factor, enabling engineers to boost performance without changing their existing designs,” said David Richmond, Advanced Energy’s senior vice president, High Volume Products, System Power. “The AIF13WAC also adds an auxiliary output and other enhancements that extend flexibility beyond what’s typically available in comparable platforms.”
