The firmware update adds energy tracking, sensor support, and improved readings to recorders. Users get these features without changing the device.

BrainChild Electronic has introduced PR Ver 2.0, a firmware upgrade for the PR Series paperless recorders. It brings a new user interface and added functions across supported models.
The firmware adds support for the AI306_6, a six-channel analog input card. This card changes temperature measurement accuracy from ±1.0°C to ±0.6°C. PR Ver 2.0 also adds an Energy Management System (EMS) module. When used with power converters, the EMS module collects signals through RS-485 communication and uses formulas to calculate values such as power and electricity use.
Another feature is connection with the temperature and humidity data logger. PR recorders do not have Wi-Fi, but users can link them to a router using the Ethernet port. The router gathers signals from XH12 loggers and sends data to the recorder. The loggers support automatic data retransmission, so data is not lost during disconnections. This works well for remote monitoring.
Users can get these new features by updating the firmware without changing hardware. The interface improves navigation and makes it easier to set up and see data. Support for the AI306_6 card brings PR recorders in line with standards such as AMS2750H, which defines temperature measurement in aerospace heat treatment. Better accuracy supports more control in sensitive processes.
The EMS module helps users go beyond showing voltage or current by enabling energy data tracking. This helps with checks, reports, and spotting power use issues. With XH12 support, PR Ver 2.0 adds monitoring in places like storage rooms or production lines. Using Ethernet and Wi-Fi routers makes setup easier and allows the system to grow.
Users can now meet tighter rules while keeping their recorders. The temperature input works well for heating processes, helping keep products safe and consistent. Energy tracking helps lower costs and improve decisions in power use. The system can also show early signs of equipment problems through power changes.
Real-time data from the XH12 helps keep conditions steady in cold chains or careful production tasks. Automatic data recovery keeps the system working, even with unstable networks. PR Ver 2.0 lets users update their PR Series recorders into systems with more features and better connections, without buying new equipment.
