A 800G transceiver increases network speed, reduces power use, works with various systems, supports future upgrades, and improves data transport efficiency.

Fujitsu has announced the launch of the 1FINITY P300 800G ZR/ZR+ coherent pluggable transceiver, a high-performance and open optical networking component. The transceiver is compatible with third-party routers, Fujitsu’s Edge Networking portfolio, and 1FINITY T-series transponder applications, providing flexible deployment options to optimize performance, cost, and power consumption.
Built with 3nm digital signal processor (DSP) semiconductor technology, the P300 reduces power consumption per bit by 30% compared to previous pluggable generations. Integrated with the Virtuora network control solution, it ensures efficient operation. Manufactured in Japan, it features high-quality precision components and a resilient supply chain. The P300 complies with open optical networking standards OIF ZR and Open ROADM MSA and is designed to support future upgrades to data rates of 1.6 terabits per second (Tbps) and beyond.
As AI and cloud workloads drive increasing data demands, networks require greater speed, capacity, and flexibility. The transceiver supports next-generation data center interconnect (DCI), metro, regional, and long-haul transport networks with a sustainable and cost-effective solution. It is part of Fujitsu’s 1FINITY Ultra Optical System, a high-performance optical portfolio that includes existing 400G ZR/ZR+ pluggable options.
Designed for reliability, the transceiver features ECC (Error Checking and Correcting) for automatic memory error correction and dual firmware modules for redundancy, ensuring continuous operation by switching to backup firmware if needed.
When integrated with the Virtuora Network Control portfolio, the transceiver simplifies the planning, design, and deployment of multi-domain, multi-vendor optical and packet-optical networks, including IPoDWDM. With open optical control, automation, and design capabilities, it provides end-to-end network management. Future updates to Virtuora will introduce pluggable management for third-party routers supporting open optical networking, further improving operational efficiency, issue resolution, and network profitability.
