IoT Terminals Boost Fleet Reliability

A new cross-continental Internet of Vehicles platform is transforming construction equipment management with secure data, predictive maintenance, and faster service responsiveness worldwide.

IoT Terminals Boost Fleet Reliability

XCMG’s digital ambitions took a leap forward with the global rollout of Xrea, its Internet of Vehicles (IoV) platform for construction machinery. The system now runs across five regional platforms in Europe and Southeast Asia, with new data nodes established in Hong Kong SAR and Europe. The milestone marks the platform’s first cross-continental service capability—laying the groundwork for fully integrated fleet management worldwide.

At its core, the platform connects equipment, manufacturers, dealers, and end users through a unified data and business management system. Unlike traditional “product export” strategies, this approach shifts XCMG toward “service export” and “digital export.” The result: end-to-end digital support for global contractors who want seamless fleet oversight, predictive maintenance, and compliance-ready data solutions. The key features are:

  • Three IoT terminals have entered mass production.
  • Certified across nine global markets, including the EU and North America.
  • Devices connect to a centralized fault code library and health management system.
  • Enable intelligent analysis of global IoT fault data.
  • Provide early failure detection and predictive service scheduling.
  • Reduce downtime and enhance equipment reliability.

Security is a cornerstone. It adopts on-premises deployment with physical isolation, ensuring sensitive equipment data stays local. Production and office networks remain segmented, while edge computing nodes handle real-time processing without exposing critical information. Reinforced by ISO 27001 certification, the platform dynamically adapts to evolving global regulations, giving contractors confidence in cross-border operations.

Training and localization add another advantage. The company  has delivered live demos and regional training in 14 countries, strengthening dealer responsiveness and customer confidence. Compliance support systems for data collection and transmission further smoothen international rollouts. Looking ahead, Phase II will expand the platform into the Middle East and Latin America, extending secure, intelligent fleet services to new growth markets. For contractors, this means smarter machines, faster service, and a truly global layer of connected construction intelligence.
