A new mobile platform launched at the India Dimensity Summit 2025 brings advanced performance, AI-driven imaging, and powerful generative AI capabilities, setting a new benchmark for premium 5G smartphones.

At the MediaTek India Dimensity Summit, MediaTek unveiled its latest premium 5G smartphone chip — the Dimensity 8450. This new system-on-chip (SoC) is designed to enhance performance, power efficiency, and AI-driven experiences in next-gen smartphones.

The Dimensity 8450 features an “All Big Core” CPU setup, with eight Arm Cortex-A725 cores and the Arm Mali-G720 MC7 GPU, delivering 30% faster speeds and better power management than previous platforms. A major highlight is its MediaTek Agentic AI Engine, built to run generative AI models such as LLMs and SLMs. The chip also integrates the NPU 880, which brings flagship-level AI performance for imaging and GenAI tasks.
The key features are:
- Supports 4K60 HDR (HLG) video recording
- Enhanced stabilization via multi-frame EIS engine
- Equipped with Imagiq 1080 ISP
- Features in-sensor zoom for sharper image quality and clarity
For gamers, the chipset delivers best-in-class FPS and power efficiency for high-performance gaming on popular titles like BGMI and Genshin Impact. On the connectivity front, the chip supports 5G-A with 3CC Carrier Aggregation and download speeds up to 5.17Gbps. Display support includes WQHD+ resolution at up to 144Hz and dual-screen capabilities.
The summit also celebrated one year of MediaTek Connect, an enthusiast community that hosted a live gaming tournament using Dimensity-powered smartphones. Leading smartphone brands such as OPPO, Vivo, Motorola, Realme, and Samsung joined the event to showcase devices powered by MediaTek chipsets across all tiers.
Some key devices included the OPPO Find X8 Pro, Vivo X200 Pro, Realme GT 7, and Tecno Phantom V Fold 2, featuring the Dimensity 9000+ and 9400 chips. Notably, OPPO will be the first to launch the Reno14 Pro with the new Dimensity 8450, with more models in its K-series lineup to follow. The Dimensity portfolio — ranging from 6000 to 9000 series — continues to shape the future of mobile performance, AI, and connectivity across entry-level to flagship smartphones.
