Portal To Streamline Electronics Design Collaboration

Electrical teams now have the ability to write, manage, and verify their requirements directly within the Altium 365 platform, this feature allows them to streamline the entire process of handling requirements, ensuring that all necessary specifications are clearly defined and easily accessible.

Altium has launched the Requirements & Systems Portal, integrated into its Altium 365 cloud platform for electronics design collaboration. This new application streamlines functional requirements management throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept to manufacturing, enhancing visibility and ensuring alignment on project specifications. This launch follows the company’s acquisition of Valispace earlier this year. Valispace is a systems and requirements engineering tool that combines system design with AI-assisted and data-driven processes.

One of the key challenges in the electronics design process is the disconnect between PCB design engineers and system requirements, often leading to rework. The Requirements & Systems Portal addresses this issue by enabling electrical teams to write, manage, and verify their requirements within the company’s 365 environment. This allows cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, managers, systems architects, and external stakeholders, to access the same up-to-date information and ensure consistency throughout the design process.

The integration of the Requirements & Systems Portal into Altium 365 enhances the platform’s role as an end-to-end development solution. It aligns with the goal of creating a collaborative space for all stakeholders in electronics development, improving communication and coordination across disciplines.

Ananth Avva, VP and GM of Cloud Platform at Altium, noted, “The Requirements & Systems Portal on Altium 365 brings product-level context to the design process, helping engineers ensure requirements are met across applications like supply chain and simulation. This fosters systems thinking and supports engineers in delivering quality electronic products.”
