Infineon Technologies AG has launched the EiceDRIVER Power 2EP1xxR family, a series of full-bridge transformer drivers for IGBT, SiC, and GaN gate driver power supplies. The product family provides a cost-effective, space-saving solution for implementing isolated gate driver supplies with asymmetrical output voltages. The company claims that the drivers are suitable for industrial and consumer applications requiring isolated gate drivers, such as solar systems, electric vehicle charging, energy storage, welding, uninterruptible power supplies, and motor drives.

The EiceDRIVER Power family is suitable for industrial system designers working on motor drives, welding equipment, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), consumer electronics manufacturers developing electric vehicle charging systems, and energy storage solutions. It also serves solar system designers and power supply engineers creating gate driver power supplies for IGBT, SiC, or GaN devices.

The product family comes in a TSSOP8 package and features integrated power capabilities and optimizations for generating asymmetric output voltages. With its duty-cycle adjustment capability, the devices are designed for asymmetric gate driver supplies. They support a wide input voltage range of up to 20 V and include protections for temperature, short-circuit, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO) to enhance system reliability.

The family includes four product variants:

  • 2EP100R and 2EP101R: Designed for designs with low component counts for IGBT and SiC MOSFET gate driver power supplies.
  • 2EP110R: This device provides duty-cycle adjustment for tuning output voltage ratios, meeting the needs of SiC and GaN power switches.
  • 2EP130R: Includes 5-stage overcurrent protection, 41 selectable switching frequencies or external PWM synchronization, and 41 selectable duty-cycle options for output voltage adjustment.

These devices provide solutions for isolated gate driver supplies across various applications.
