Keysight Technologies has introduced a new PCIe 7.0 Receiver Test application, expanding its validation portfolio to support end-to-end transmitter and receiver testing for next-generation compute, AI, and data center applications. The solution addresses the growing challenge of validating receiver performance at 128 GT/s as PCIe 7.0 adoption moves closer to deployment.

The receiver test application is designed to simplify validation workflows and improve testing reliability for advanced ASIC development. With shorter PCIe specification cycles and increasing signal complexity, engineers face greater difficulty in validating high-speed receiver performance. Keysight’s solution aims to reduce development risk while improving interoperability and measurement confidence.

A major advantage of the platform is its ability to automate receiver stress calibration and characterization. By reducing manual setup effort, the solution helps accelerate receiver bring-up and validation while identifying weaknesses earlier in the design cycle. This can minimize late-stage redesigns and compliance-related delays in high-speed interface development.

The solution combines the M8050A BERT family with the M8042A 120 GBaud pattern generator and M8043A error analyzer to support accurate PCIe 7.0 stress signal generation and analysis. Complementing the hardware is the new N5991PB7A software, which simplifies calibration and control of PCIe 7.0 receiver stress signals through advanced automation capabilities.

Additional features include specification-aligned stressed signal generation for 128 GT/s testing and compatibility with Keysight’s PCIe 7.0 transmitter test solution, enabling complete transmitter-to-receiver validation coverage in common clock mode.

“PCIe 7.0 receiver validation at 128 GT/s is one of the industry’s most significant signal integrity challenges,” says Dr. Joachim Peerlings, Vice President of Network and Data Center Solutions at Keysight. “By extending our PCIe 7.0 physical-layer measurement portfolio with advanced receiver characterization capabilities, we help customers reduce risk, accelerate development, and confidently validate next-generation ASIC designs.”
