MYIR Launches T536 SOM Featuring 17 UART and 4 CAN, Powered by Quad-Core A55 Processor

MYIR has launched the MYC-LT536 system-on-module (SOM), powered by the Allwinner T536 chip. The company claims that the module can also include a neural processing unit (NPU) that provides two tera-operations per second (TOPS) to boost the device’s machine learning and artificial intelligence tasks.

The SOM suits various users, including industrial equipment manufacturers, engineers, robotics developers, educational institutions, and IoT device makers. It is suitable for applications in industrial control systems, automation, robotics, human-machine interaction, and embedded systems, offering solutions with I/O options and connectivity. It is also helpful for tech startups and researchers working on custom solutions, such as AI projects, smart home devices, and edge computing. The module’s size, performance, and Linux compatibility make it a choice for those needing a platform for various applications.

The company offers three standard module configurations to meet customer needs and offers bulk discounts. They also provide ODM and OEM services for custom solutions. The chip includes four Arm Cortex-A55 cores running up to 1.6GHz and a T-Head XuanTie E907 RISC-V microcontroller running up to 600MHz. The T536MX-CEN2 version includes the NPU for additional processing power.

The module has a choice of 1GB, 2GB, or 4GB LPDDR4 memory, 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB eMMC storage, and a 32KB EEPROM. The features are connected through a 381-pin Land Grid Array (LGA) package, which includes various ports such as USB 2.0, UART, I2C, SPI, CAN FD, PCI Express, and SDIO connections, plus GPIO, ADC channels, and PWM channels.

For a quick start, the company offers the module in a single-board computer carrier with ports for USB, Ethernet, microSD, analogue audio, LVDS video output, and an M.2 slot for NVMe SSD or PCIe devices. A development kit adds more USB ports, serial ports, CAN FD interfaces, and a mini-PCI Express slot for a USB cellular modem.
