Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has expanded the resistance range of its AEC-Q200 qualified thin film MELF resistors in 0102, 0204, and 0207 case sizes. The Vishay Beyschlag MMU 0102, MMA 0204, and MMB 0207 resistors are now available with a low TCR of ±15 ppm/K, tight tolerances down to ±0.1%, and resistance values up to 10 MΩ, meeting high stability and reliability requirements.

This product is designed for professionals and companies requiring high-stability and reliable electronic components. It is suitable for telecommunications equipment needing precise current sensing. It is also ideal for industrial applications such as power supplies and automation systems. Additionally, it is well-suited for medical devices demanding precision and robustness.

The company claims that the resistors offer significantly higher resistance than earlier models. The updated model now achieves up to 5.11 MΩ at the same TCR and tolerance and 1 MΩ at a TCR of ±15 ppm/K. The higher resistance allows a single resistor to replace multiple lower-value resistors in series, reducing space, simplifying designs, and lowering costs.

A few key features of the MELF resistors include:

  • Case sizes: 0102, 0204, 0207
  • Resistance range: 22 Ω to 332 kΩ, 10 Ω to 5.11 MΩ, 15 Ω to 10 MΩ
  • Tolerance: ±0.5%, ±0.25%, ±0.1% (MMU 0102); ±0.25%, ±0.1% (MMA 0204, MMB 0207)
  • TCR: ±25 ppm/K, ±15 ppm/K
  • Rated power: 0.2 W, 0.25 W, 0.4 W
  • Operating voltage: 150 V, 200 V, 350 V
  • Temperature range: -55°C to +125°C

Built on advanced metal film technology, these precision resistors ensure reliability in applications such as automotive ADAS, LIDAR, connectivity, camera systems, and telecom, industrial, and medical equipment. They feature intrinsic sulfur resistance, robust design, and stability exceeding class 0.05. Compatible with automatic SMD assembly systems, the resistors are lead-free, RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green.
