SMW200A vector signal generator and FSW Signal analyzer software are upgraded to fit the requirements of the 5G specification. The FSVA3000 signal and spectrum analyzer and SMM100A vector signal generator handle 5G NR.

5G New Radio (NR) is a global standard for the unified and more efficient 5G wireless air interface, enabling faster communications. It promises faster and stable broadband experiences. It also enables mobile technology to connect and redefine emerging industries.

Key Features of Release 17:

The key features of 5G New Radio release 17 includes Ultra Reliable Low Latency communication (URLLC), radio access network slicing for NR, and integrated access and backhaul (IAB). 3GPP also extends the frequency to support 71GHz. This extension needs an additional layer of two subcarrier spacings (480 kHz and 960 kHz) and a wider signal bandwidth support up to 2 GHz.

The R&S FSW signal and spectrum analyzers are equipped with the enhanced dynamic module to meet high-quality signal test requirements. This makes it an ideal solution for evaluating any high-end communication components or systems. Such systems also include the new 5G NR FR2 and IEEE 802.11 ay/ad chipsets, amplifiers, base stations and user equipment.

The R&S SMW200A vector signal generator with the frequency option of 67 GHz can actually allow up to 72 GHz in the over range mode. This setting enables it to support all higher frequency 5G bands, inter-satellite links and also 60 GHz WiGig bands.

The key attributes of this generator includes flat frequency response, excellent modulation quality, and four hardware-based levels of phase noise performance that applies to the new frequency options.
